The day out here at Lillac Hill was ideal ,clear skies and just over 4,000 spectators and 22 dogs ,the Adelaide Strikers have come to take on the Melbourne Renegades .The skippers Sophie Molineux and Tahlia McGrath made their way to the centre for the batflip ,it was Strikers skipper Tahlia McGrath that called it and elected to bat .The new ball was thrown to Sophie Molineux .Adelaide Strikers openers Dane Van Niekerk and Katie Mack made their way out to centre to do battle ,this opening pair put together a partnership of 43 runs over 5 over’s before Katie Mack was cleaned bowled for 19 runs ,the Strikers are now 1/43 .Laura Wolvaardt is the incoming batter to join Dane Van Niekerk at the crease ,this pair over the next 8 over’s added 73 runs to the total before Dane Van Niekerk went Lbw to the bowling off Carly Leeson for a well made 62 runs ,the Strikers are now 2/116 off 15 over’s .Tahlia McGrath is the incoming batter to join Laura Wolvaardt ,this partnership lasted 9 balls before Tahlia McGrath was out caught of the bowling of Ellie Falconer for 7 runs ,the Strikers are now 3/127.With 3 over’s to go the new batter is Madeline Penna ,but 10 balls later its Laura Wolvaardt that’s out caught off the bowling of Harmanpreet Kaur for 47 well made runs of 35 balls ,the Strikers are now 4/148 .Bridget Patterson  is the next batter to the centre ,this partnership didn’t last long as Madeline Penna was out the next ball stumped off the bowling of Harmanpreet Kaur Bhullar,the Strikers are now 5/148,the next batter is Amanda-Jade Wellington who with Bridget Patterson added 12 runs to the total ,the Adelaide Strikers hit 160 runs of their 20 over’s .Dane Van Niekerk and skipper Tahlia McGrath were the main contributors to the score getting 62 + 47 runs each ,Renegades bowlers Sophie Molineux,Harmanreet Kaur and Carly Leeson each took wickets.

The Melbourne Renegade openers Eve Jones and Jeminah Rodriques made their way out to the centre to chase down the 161 runs needed to win the match ,the openers are facing up to Strikers opening bowler Megan Schutt ,this partnership took the total to 32 before Jeminah Rodriques was out caught of the bowling off Megan Schutt for 27 runs ,the Renegades are now 1/32.New batter is Josie Dooley ,unfortunately Eve Jones  only lasted 3 balls before she was out caught off the bowling of skipper Tahlia McGrath for 3 runs ,the Renegades are now 2/33.The next batter to the crease is Indian International Harmanpreet Kaur ,this partnership with Josie Dooley over the next 10 over’s added 70 runs to the total before Josie Dooley was out caught off the bowling of Megan Schutt for 29 runs ,the Melbourne Renegades are now 3/103 14^th over .Jess Duffin is the next batter to partner Harmanpreet Kaur and together this pair added 48 runs before Jess Duffin is out caught off the bowling of Sarah Coyte for 14 runs ,the Renegades are now 4/151 .With 8 balls remaining in the match to get 10 runs to win ,Skipper Sophie Molineux made her way out to the centre and this partnership took the Renegades over the line to score the runs with 2 balls to spare ,the Renegades ended up 4/162 off  19.4 over’s .Harmanpreet Kaur was the major scorer for the Renegades hitting 73 runs off 46 balls ,Josie Dooley and Jeminah Rodriques also contributed 27 + 29 runs a piece .Megan Schutt claimed 2 wickets while Tahlia McGrath and Sarah Coyte each picked up a wicket a piece.
