The Hobart Hurricanes and the Sydney Thunder came to Optus Stadium ,Perth for match 31 of the KFC BBL/10 ,Hurricanes skipper Peter Handscomb and Thunder skipper Callum Ferguson made their way onto Optus Oval for the batflip ,Hurricanes Skipper Peter Handscomb called it and sent the Melbourne Thunder into to bat,Usman Kawarja and Alex Hales came out to open for the Thunder while Hurricanes Nick Winter was thrown the new ball .Over the next 6 overs the two Sydney Thunder openers added 57 runs to the total ,then in the seventh over Alex Hales swung at a ball and was caught by Nathan Ellis of the bowling of D’arcy Short for 21 runs ,the Thunder are now 1/ 59.Thunder skipper Callum Ferguson is the next batter to come out and take centre,6 balls later the skipper was making his way back to the dugout after being caught by Johan Botha off the bowling of Sandeep Lamichhane for 1 run ,the Thunder are now 2/67 ,Sam Billings makes his way out to Join Usman Kawaja who is seeing the ball well then , in the next over Sam Billings is heading back to the pavillion after being caught and bowled by D’arcy Short for 1 run ,the Thunder are now 3/71 in the 10th over .Thunder batter Alex Ross came out to join Usman Kawaja and together their partnership lasted 8 balls before Usman Kawaja went lbw to D’arcy Short for a well made 49 runs off 33 balls ,the Thunder are now 4/76 .Arjun Nair came out to join batter Alex Ross who was seeing the ball well ,this partnership was to last 4 overs before Arjun Nair was run out after making 15 runs ,the Thunder are now 5/110 ,Ben Cutting is the new batter to come out and take centre ,together with Alex Ross they added a 57 run partnership in the 5 overs remaining .The Sydney Thunder ended up making 167 runs in their 20 overs ,Usman Kwaja top scored with 49 runs while Alex Ross put together a well made 44 runs , D’arcy Short was the better of the Hurricane bowlers picking up 3 wickets of his 4 overs.
Hurricane openers Ben McDermott and D’arcy Short made their way out to take centre ,the Thunder threw the new ball to Spinner Arjun McNair ,over the next 4 overs the Thunder had a few bowler changes to make it interesting ,then in the fifth over D’arcy Short was caught by skipper Callum Ferguson of the bowling of Nathan McAndrew for 19 runs ,the Hurricanes are 1/36 in the fifth over,next batter to the crease is Dawid Malan,unfortunately this partnership only lasted 4 balls when Ben McDermott went lbw to Nathan McAndrew for 22 runs ,the Thunder are now 2/43 .New batter Peter Handscomb makes his way to the crease and over the next 7 overs with Dawid Malan take the score to 91 before Dawid Malan is cleaned bowled by Chris Greenfor 20 runs,the Hobart Hurricanes are now 3/91 ,with just 8 overs left and 76 runs to get the game can go either way .The new batter to come out is Colin Ingram who with Peter Handscomb added 7 runs before Peter Handscomb is stumped by Sam Billings off the bowling of Tanveer Sangha for 30 runs ,the Hobart Hurricanes are now 4/98,Tim David is the incoming batter who with Tanveer Sagha lasted 8 balls before Tim David was caught by Nathan Ferguson for 2 runs of the bowling of Ajun Nair ,the Hurricanes are now 5/106 ,Mac Wright is the incoming batter to join with Colin Ingram together this partnership lasted 9 balls when Sam Billing caught Colin Ingram of the bowling of Tanveer Sangha for 12 runs,the Hobart Hurricanes are now 6/112 ,Nathan Ellis came out to join Mac Wright but in the next over Mac Wright was bowled by Adam Milne for 5 runs ,the Hurricanes are now 7/116 in the eighteenth over and looking shaky .The next batter to the crease is Nick Winter who with Nathan Ellis lasted 3 balls before Nick Winter went lbw to Chris Green ,the Hurricanes are now 8/117 ,Scott Boland is the new batter to join up with Nathan Ellis and took the Hurricanes to the end of their 20 overs ,the Hobart Hurricane ended up 8/128 ,the Hurricanes 4 batters that started to put an innings together but due to the Sydney Thunder bowlers they were locked down ,all the Sydney Thunder bowlers contributed in the innings with most getting wickets .
