Match 3 in the 2020 ICC T20 World cup sees New Zealand take on Sri Lanka at the WACA ground in Perth.WA. ,the skippers Kiwi Sophie Devine and Sri Lankan Chamari Athapaththu made their way to the centre for the toss ,it New Zealander Sophie Devine that called it and sent the Sri Lankan team into bat ,coming out to open bat for the Sri Lankans are Chamari Athapaththu and Hasini Mudushika ,the new ball is thrown to Kiwi opening bowlers Sophie Devine and Lea Tahuhu.The Sri Lankan openers got away to a great start hitting 60 runs of the first 7 overs ,but it was Hasini Madushika that was first to walk back to the pavillion after being bowled for 20 runs off the bowling of Amelia Kerr ,Sri Lanka are now 1/60,the new batter to the crease is Anushka Sanjeewani this partnership added 27 runs before Chamari Athaththu spooned a ball back to Lea Tahuhu and was out caught and bowled for 15 runs ,Sri Lanka are now 2/ 87,the next batter to the crease is Harshitha Madvi ,this partnership lasted just over 2 overs before Anushka Sanjeewani played a shot and was out caught of the bowling of Hayley Jensen for 15 runs ,Sri Lanka are now 3/99 in the fifteenth over .The next batter to take centre is Shashikala Siriwardene ,3 balls later and Shashikala Siriwardene was walking back to the pavillion after being caught off the bowling of Hayley Jensen for a DUCK ,Sri lanka are now 4/100 .The next batter is Nilakshi De Silva who with Harshitha Madavi added 14 runs to the total before Nilakshi De Silva was out caught of the bowling off Sophie Devine for 4 runs ,Sri Lanka are now 5/114.The next batter to make her way out is Ama Kancharma who faced up to the next ball and was out caught of the bowling of Amelia Kerr for a DUCK ,Sri Lanka are now 6/114 in the eighteenth over .Kavisha Dilhari is the new batter ,this partnership lasted 9 runs before she was caught of the bowling off Hayley Jensen ,Sri Lanka are now 7/123 ,Achini Kulasuriya is the next batter who made 1 run and remained not out with Harshitha Madavi who remained on 27 runs not out ,the better of the Sri Lankan batters was Chamari Athapathu who made 41 runs ,Hasini Madushika (20),Anushka Sanjeewani (15) and Harshita Madavi (27) were contributers to the total .The better of the Kiwi bowlers Hayley Jensen who took 3/16,Amelia Kerr took 2/21 with Tahuhu and Devine each picking up a wicket each .
New Zealander openers Sophie Devine and Rachel Priest made their way to the centre to face up to Sri Lankan bowlers Udeskika Prabodhani and Shashikala Siriwardene ,the opening batters added 18 runs to the total before Rachel Priest went for a run that wasn’t there and was caught short run out for 6 runs ,the Kiwis are 1/18 ,Suzie Bates is the incoming batter to join skipper Sophie Devine ,this partnership added 40 runs before Suzie Bates was out caught of the bowling off Kavisha Dilhari for 13 runs ,the Kiwis are now 2/58 ,the next batter to take centre is Maddy Green ,this partnership put on 61 runs to the total befor Maddy Green was clean bowled by Chamari Athapaththu for 29 runs off her 20 balls ,Sri Lanka are now 3/119 in the seventeeth over .With 2 overs to go the Kiwis need 5 runs to win ,Katey Martin is the new batter to take centre,5 balls later it was the Kiwis that hit the runs and won ,New Zealand skipper Sophie Devine batted well to make 75 runs not out off 55 balls with Katey Martin remaining on 4 not out ,Maddy Green was a contributer making 29 runs off 20 balls .The better of the Sri Lankan bowlers were Kavisha Dilhari and Chamari Athapaththu each picking up a wicket a piece .
