           In front of 23,500 cricket fans at Optus Stadium  the Hobart Hurricanes skipper Peter Handscomb along  with Perth Scorchers skipper Ashton Turner made their way for the batflip ,Hurricanes Peter Handscomb called it and decided to put the Scorchers into the field .Coming out to open bat for the Hurricanes is Ben McDermott and D’arcy Short ,Scorcher bowler Jhye Richardson was thrown the new ball ,after the first 2 over’s the Hurricanes are 0/8 ,then at the start of the third over Ben McDermott facing up to Jhye Richardson was bowled for 2 runs ,the Hurricanes are now 1/8.Dawid Malan is the incoming batter ,this partnership didn’t last that long as Dawid Malan was out caught off the bowling Jason Brehendorff for a duck ,the Hurricanes are now 2/9 off 3 overs.Hurricanes skipper Peter Handscomb is the batter to the crease ,together with D’arcy Short the added a 29 run partnership before Peter Handscomb was cleaned bowled by Fawad Ahmed for 13 runs ,the Hurricanes are now 3/38 .The next batter is Colin Ingram who with D’arcy Short over the next  5 overs added  48 valuable runs before Colin Ingram was caught by Curtis Paterson off the bowling of Aaron Hardie for 18 runs ,the Hurricanes are now 4/86 in the 14th over .Coming out to join D’arcy Short is Tim David  this partnership lasted lasted for 4 over’s before D’arcy Short was caught by Curtis Paterson off the bowling of Aaron Hardie for a much needed 57 runs ,the Hurricanes are 5/115 in the eighteenth over .Mitchell Owen is the next batter to come out to the crease ,in the next 2 over’s the pair added 24 runs taking the total to 139 runs with Tim David remaining not out on 31 runs while Mitchell Owen remained 11 not out ,the stand out batter for the Hurricanes was D’arcy Short who made well put together 57 runs ,Aaron Hardie was the better of the Scorcher bowlers picking up 2 wickets while Jhye Richardson and Fawad Ahmed each picked up a wicket .

The Scorcher openers came out to the crease knowing how many runs they had to get ,in the games they played at Optus Stadium previously they were put in to bat. Chasing the runs Scorhers Jason Roy and Liam Livingstone made their way out to the crease , Hurricane bowler Riley Meredith was thrown the new ball ,over the next 14 over’s the batters had little trouble with the Hurricane bowlers taking their partnership to 123 runs before Liam Livingstone was caught by Dawid Malan off the bowling of Scott Boland for 54 runs ,the Scorchers are now 1/123 .Needing 17 runs to win Josh Inglis came out to join Liam Livingstone who was seeing the ball well ,the pair added the 17 runs needed in 2 over’s ,Jason Roy remained not out on 74 runs with Josh Inglis remaining on 7 runs not out ,The Scorchers had little trouble getting the 139 runs in the 17th over. Hurricanes bowler Scott Boland was the only bowler to pick up a wicket .
