The ACT Meteors have made their way over west to take on the Western Australian women in the WNCL match ,the 2 captains Katie Mack and Chloe Piparo make their way out to the centre for the toss ,it was Katie Mack that called it and elected to bat .The ACT Meteors openers Rebecca Carter and Grace Lyons make their way to the crease ,the new ball was thrown to Piepa Cleary and Taneale Peschel .The Meteor openers slowly took the total to 46 before there was a misunderstanding and Grace Lyons was run out for 15 runs of 41 balls ,the Meteors are now 1/46.The next batter to the crease is the skipper Katie Mack ,4 over’s later it was Rebecca Carter that played at a ball and was caught behind of the bowling of Amy Edgar for 22 runs off 42 balls ,the Meteors are now 2/55.Annie Wikman is the next batter to the crease ,this partnership added 14 runs to the total before Katie Mack was out caught off the bowling of Lilly Mills for 15 runs off 35 balls, the ACT Meteors are now 3/69 in the 20th over , Carly Leeson is the next batter to make her way to the crease and with Annie Wikman added 6 runs to the total before Carly Leeson was caught behind off the bowling of Chloe Ainsworth for a Duck ,the Meteors are now 4/75.Olivia Porter is the next batter to make her way to the crease ,7 over’s later it was Annie Wikman that was making her way back to the dugout after being caught behind off the bowling of Taneale Peschel for 15 runs of 27 balls, the Meteors are now 5/95 .Alisha Bates is the next batter to the crease ,unfortunately 5 balls later it was Alisha Bates that was heading back to the dugout after being caught behind off the bowling of Amy Edgar for a Duck .The Meteors are struggling at 6/96 and need a partnership to add more runs ,the next batter is Grace Dignam ,this partnership added 3 runs to the total before Grace Dignam was out caught off the bowling of Chloe Ainsworth for 5 runs off 7 balls, the Meteors are now 8/109 .Holly Ferling is the incoming batter ,this partnership added 32 runs to the total before Holly Ferling went lbw to Lilly Mills ,the Meteors are now 9/141 in the 38th over .Jannatul Sumona is the next batter to the crease ,this partnership added 10 runs before Angelina Genford was out caught behind for 20 runs of 21 balls ,the Meteors are now all out for 151 runs in 39.3 overs,the better batter for the Meteors were Rebecca Carter (22) and Angelina Genford(20) .Maddy Darke took 5 catches behind the stumps for the WA women ,the better bowler was Amy Edgar who picked up 3 wickets ,Taneale Peschel(1),Chloe Ainsworth (2),Zoe Britcliffe(1) and Lilly Mills (2).There were 35 extra’s bowled in this innings.
Coming out to open for the WA women is the skipper Chloe Piparo and Maddy Darke, while the new ball was thrown to Angleina Genford and Holly Ferling, the WA openers over the next 19 over’s had little trouble with Meteor bowlers and took the total to 136 before skipper Chloe Piparo was out caught off the bowling of Grace Dignam for 58 runs off 59 balls ,the WA women are now 1/136 . The batter to the crease is Mathilda Carmichael ,with only 15 runs needed this partnership had no trouble in taking WA over the line to win by 9 wickets, keeper Maddy Darke remained 60 not out while Mathilda Carmichael remained 1 not out .There were 33 extra’s bowled in this innings .
