The Adelaide Strikers have made their way to the WACA to take on the Perth Scorchers in front of 3,474 fans ,the 2 captains Tahlia McGrath and Sophie Devine made their way to the centre for the Batflip ,it was the Scorchers that called it and elected to bat .Coming out to open was Beth Mooney and Chloe Piparo ,while the new ball was thrown to Megan Schutt and Danielle Gibson ,Beth Mooney is on strike and plays at a ball and is out caught off the bowling of Meagan Schutt for a Duck, the Scorchers are 1/0 ,not a great start for the Scorchers .The new batter to the crease is Maddy Darke and this partnership over the next 8 overs added 62 runs to the total before Maddy Darke was cleaned bowled for 31 runs off 24 balls ,the Scorchers are now 2/62,Natalie Sciver-Brunt is the incoming batter to the crease ,in the first ball of the 9th over Sophie Devine is out bowled off the bowling of Tahlia McGrath for a well made 28 runs off 26 balls ,the Scorchers are now 3/62 .Amy Jones made her way to the crease ,this partnership over the next 7 overs added 72 runs before Amy Jones was out stumped off the bowling of Amanda Jade-Wellington for 33 runs off 20 balls faced ,the Scorchers are now 4/134.Alana King is the next batter to take centre and this partnership with Nat Sciver-Brunt took the total to 152 before Alana King was cleaned bowled for 10 runs ,the Scorchers are now 5/154.Pip Piparo is the next batter to make her way out to take centre ,this pair added 12 runs before Natalie Sciver-Brunt was out stumped off the bowling of Amanda Jade-Wellington for a well made 53 runs off 33 balls ,the Scorchers are now 6/164,Amy Edgar is the next batter to the crease ,she faced up to the last ball and was run out for 1 ,the Scorchers are 7/165 after the 20 overs ,Nat Sciver-Brunt was the best batter for her 53 runs off 33 balls ,with Jones Devine + Darke all contributing ,the Strikers better bowler was Amanda Jade-Wellington taking 3/25,Megan Schutt picking up 2/25.
The Strikers openers Katie Mack and Laura Wolvaardt made their way to the centre to face up to Scorchers opening bowlers Alana King and Chloe Ainsworth ,the Striker openers added the runs without any chances then in the 4th over Laura Wolvaardt was out caught by King off the bowling of Sophie Devine for 6 runs ,the Strikers are now 1/32 ,the Strikers skipper Tahlia McGrath is the new batter to take centre ,this partnership added 42 runs before Tahlia McGrath was out caught by Sophie Devine off the bowling of Amy Edgar for 30 runs off 22 balls ,the Strikers are now 2/74 .Bridgett Patterson made her way to the crease ,these 2 batters added 79 runs in the partnership before Katie Mack was run out for 71 runs off 52 balls ,the Strikers are now 3/153 in the 18th over .Danielle Gibson is the new batter to join Bridgett Patterson ,this partnership only lasted 4 balls(6 runs) before Bridgett Patterson was caught short of her crease and was run out for 35 runs off 32 balls ,the Strikers are 4/159 with 3 balls remaining and 6 runs needed ,Georgia Adams is the next batter ,Danielle Gibson hit the winning runs off the last ball bowled ,Katie Mack was the stand out batter for the Strikers hitting 71 runs off 52 balls ,with McGrath + Patterson main contributors as well ,Sophie Devine and Amy Edgar both took a wicket .
