Perth Scorchers vs Hobart Hurricanes

On a clear and sunny day here at the WACA  for the WEBER WBBL T20 match between the Perth Scorchers and the Hobart Hurricanes the 2 skippers made their way out to the centre for the batflip ,it was the Hobart Hurricanes Rachel Priest that called it and elected to bat putting the Scorchers into the field ,Coming out to open for the Hurricanes is skipper Rachel Priest  and Naomi Stalenberg ,Scorhers Marizanne Kapp and Taneale Peschel took the new ball .The opening batters started off slowly but then got the measure of the bowlers and after 6 over’s put together a partnership of 40 runs before Naomi Stalenberg misjudged a ball from Alana King and was clean bowled for 15 runs ,the Hurricanes are now 1/40,Mignon du Preez is the incoming batter to join Rachel Priest ,this pair added 50 runs to take the total to 90 runs in the 13^th over ,unfortunately Rachel Priest was out caught for 54 runs off 48 balls off the bowling of Taneale Peschel ,the Hurricanes are now 2/90 .Richa Ghosh is the new batter to make her way out to join Mignon du Preez ,this partnership only lasted for 3 balls before Richa Ghosh is caught out by Alana King off the bowling of Lilly Mills ,the Hurricanes are now 3/97 in the 14^th over .The next batter is Nicola Carey who made her way out to the centre to join Preez ,unfortunately Mignon du Preez was out caught and bowled off Lily Mills for 23 runs ,the Hobart Hurricanes are now 4/101 .Hurricanes skipper Molly Strano is the next batter to walk out to the centre to join Nicola Carey ,this partnership only lasted for 5 runs before the Nicola Carey was out clean bowled by Marizanne Kapp for 3 runs ,the Hurricanes are now 5/106.Ruth Johnston made her way out to join Molly Strano ,this pair added 9 runs before Ruth Johnston was out caught by Kapp off the bowling of Alana King for 4 runs.The Hobart Hurricanes are 6/115 in the 16^th over. Sasha Moloney is the new batter to the crease ,7 balls later Moloney was making her way back to the pavilion after being caught by Carmichael off the bowling of Heather Graham  for 5 runs ,the Hurricanes are now 7/122 with only 2 overs left .Tayla Vlaeminck is the new batter together with Molly Strano took the total to 137 before Tayla Vlaeminck was out caught off the last ball for 7 runs off the bowling of Heather Graham,The Hurricanes got 137 runs off their 20 overs .Rachel Priest was the main scorer getting 54 runs ,with Mignon du Preez getting 23 runs.The wickets were spread around the Perth Scorcher Bowlers with Mills,Kapp and Alana King ea picking up 2 wickets apiece.

         Perth Scorcher openers Sophie Devine and Beth Mooney made their way out to the crease with the new ball being thrown to Hurricanes duo Belinda Vakarewa and Tayla Vlaeminck .The Scorcher openers put on 7 runs before Beth Mooney was out caught off the bowling of Belinda Vakarewa for 1 run ,the Scorchers are now 1/7.The next batter to the crease is Chloe Piparo ,8 balls later Sophie Devine was making her way back to the pavilion after being caught of the bowling of Molly Strano for 25 runs ,the Scorchers are now 2/28.Chamari  Athapathathu is the new batter to walk out to the crease ,these batters put toghether a 43 run partnership before Chloe Piparo was out caught behind off the bowling of Amy Smith for 20 runs ,the Scorchers are now 3/71 off 9 overs .Heather Graham is the next batter to walk out and take centre ,these 2 batters added 31 runs before Chamari Athapaththu was caught off the bowling of Belinda Vakarewa for 33 runs off 31 balls ,the Scorchers are 4/102,with 5 overs remaining the Scorchers needed 36 runs to take the win .It was Marizanne Kapp the came out to the centre to join HG ,9 balls later it was Heather Graham that was heading back to the pavilion after being given LBW off the bowling of Nicola Carey,the Scorchers are 5/115.Mathilda Carmichael is the incoming batter to take centre ,after 4 balls Mathilda Carmichael was given out LBW to Ruth Johnston for 2 runs ,the Scorchers are now 6/118.Alana King is the next batter to make the walk out to the crease ,8 balls later it was Marizanne Kapp who was walking back to the pavilion after going LBW to Ruth Johnston for 9 runs ,the Scorchers are now  7/126 .With 9 balls remaining to get 12 runs needed for the win ,it was Taneale Peschel who made the trip out to the centre 4 balls later it was Taneale Peschel that was walking back to the dugout after being clean bowled by Nicola Carey for 2 runs ,the Scorchers are now 8/132 with 4 balls remaining to get the 6 runs for a win ,well 4 balls later it was all over the Hobart Hurricanes had held out the Scorchers and taken the points ,the Scorchers had their chances but blew it .Chamari Athapthathu was the better batter for the Scorches ,while HG (24) and Sophie Devine (25 ) contributed,The Hurricane bowlers all contributed to bowling the Scorchers out ,Vakarewa  ,Strano ,Carey each picking up 2 wickets apiece
