          Match # 9 in the KFC Big Bash lead the Perth Scorchers to Optus stadium for their match against last season’s champions the Adelaide Strikers .The captains had the toss and it was Scorchers Ashton Turner who won the toss  and sent the Adelaide Strikers into to bat.Coming out to open for the Strikers were Alex Carey and Jake Weatherald  with Scorchers bowler Jason Brehendorff taking the new ball ,the openers worked steadily for the first 4 overs before Jake Weatherald was caught off the bowling of Jason Brehendorff for 22 runs ,the Strikers were now 1/25.Colin Ingram was the next batsmen to the crease ,but after 2 overs Ingram was on his way back to the pavillion after being caught  for 2 off the bowling of Jason Behrendorff,the Strikers were now 2/33 .Matt Short was the next batsmen to take centre ,but within an over he too was heading back after beiing bowled by Jhye Richardson for 1 run ,Adelaide are now 3/35,Jonathan Wells was the next batsmen who made his way to the centre ,Carey and Wells added to the total over the next 2 overs before Alex Carey was run out for 11 runs ,Strikers are 4/40 and are struggling against the Scorchers attack.Jake Lehmann is the next batsmen to take centre but after facing a ball from Jhye Richardson is caught for a duck ,Adelaide are now  5/40 .Michael Nesser is the next Strikers batsmen to take the strike ,Jonathan Wells is the next batsmen to head back to the pavillion after being caught of the bowling of Nathan Coulter-Nile for 2 runs ,Adelaide are now 6/40 runs off 10.2 overs.Cameron Valente was the next batsmen to come out and take centre ,the pair managed to add 6 runs to the total before Nesser was caught plum in front and was given LBW to Jhye Richardson ,the visitors were now 7/46 .Rashid Khan came out to take centre and over the next 4 overs managed to add 38 much needed runs ,but then Valente was caught of the bowling of Andrew Tye for 21Adelaide were now 8/84 .Ben Laughlin was the next batsmen to make his way out ,but next over Rashid Kahn was on his way after being caught of the bowling of David Willey for 21 runs ,Billy Stanlake came out to join Ben laughlin ,then a few balls later Laughlin was caught of the bowling of Andrew Tye for 2 ,Billy Stanlake remained not out 1 Jhye Richardson was the best Scorcher bowler getting 3/7 off his 3 overs ,Andrew Tye and Jason Brehendorff each claimed 2 wickets each.

          The Perth Scorcher openers Michael Klinger and Josh Inglis made there way out to the middle needing to get 89 runs to win ,Adelaide Striker bowler Michael Nesser took the new ball , in the first over the Scorchers made their intentions known with Josh Inglis helping himself to the runs ,after 3 overs Michael Klinger took a run but was left short and given run out for 2 runs ,the Scorchers were now 1/19 Will Bosito was the next batsmen to make his way out and take centre but in the following 2 overs the pair added 11 runs before Josh Inglis was caught of the bowling of Billy Stanlake ,the Scorchers were now 2/30 ,Ashton Turner was the next batsmen to come out and join Will Bosito who over the next 12 overs added 57 runs in their partnership before Ashton Turner was clean bowled for 24 runs ,the Scorchers were now 3/87 in the 17^th over ,Hilton Cartwright was the incoming batsmen who with Will Bosito took the Scorchers over the line to end up getting 92 runs off there 18 overs ,Will Bosito ended up 36 not out with Cartwright remaining 1 not out .

                    Perth Scorcher bowler Jhye Richardson was named player of the match after his fine bowling performance.
