Match 25 of KFC BBL came to the MCG with the Melbourne Stars taking on the Perth Scorchers ,the captains tossed the bat and it was Scorcher captain Ashton Turner who won the toss and sent the home team the Melbourne Stars into bat ,coming out to open the batting was Evan Glubis and Ben Dunk ,The Scorcher bowler Nathan Coulter-Nile was thrown the new ball .The Stars openers were gradually building on their total when on 65 in the eighth over Evan Glubis played at a ball from Usman Qadir and was caught for 37 well made runs ,the Stars were now 1/65.Next batsman to take centre was Nick Maddison who added 2 runs to the total before he was caught off the bowling of Andrew Tye,the Stars were now 2/67 , Seb Gotch came out and took centre and together with Ben Dunk took the total to 121 before Dunk was caught off the bowling off David Willey ,the Stars were now 3/121 in the 15th over ,Dwayne Bravo was the next batsman to come out ,he faced up to Andrew Tye and was cleaned bowled for a Duck ,the Stars were now 4/121.Jonathan Merlo was the new batter to come out and take centre ,with 13 runs added to the total Merlo was caught off the bowling of Tye for 7 runs .Stars were now 5/134 .The new batsmen to come out and take centre was Liam Plunkett ,with only 1 run added to the total Ben Dunk was caught off the bowling of Usman Qadir for a well made 62 runs ,the Stars were now 6/135 with only an over left ,the new batsmen to come was Nick Larkin ,when the 20 over’s were up the Melbourne Stars finished up with 146 .Andrew Tye was the best of the Perth Scorchers bowlers taking 4/18 off his 4 over’s ,Stars batsmen Ben Dunk was the top scorer with 62.
Perth Scorcher openers Cameron Bancroft and Michael Klinger came out to face up to Michael Beer who was opening for the Melbourne Stars , Bancroft and Klinger soon got into action hitting the attack around the ground and taking the total to 75 in the 11th over before Michael Klinger was caught and bowled off the bowling off Liam Bowe for 29 runs ,the Scorchers were now 1/75 ,next batsmen to make his way out to the centre was Scorcher captain Ashton Turner who with Cameron Bancroft took the total to 96 before Bancroft was stumped off the bowling for a well made 59 runs ,the Scorchers were now 2/96. Ashton Agar was the next batsmen to take centre and with Ashton Turner took the total to 136 runs before Agar was cleaned bowled for , Scorchers are now 3/136 .Next Scorcher batsmen to come out was Hilton Cartwright. Ashton Agar faced up to Dwayne Bravo and was cleaned bowled by Bravo. Hilton Cartwright was the next batsmen to take centre ,he was then cleaned bowled Dwayne Bravo for a duck ,WilliamBosito was the new batsmen who came out to face Dwayne Bravo on a hatrick ,Bravo came in and bowled a slower ball which Bosito blocked ,then Bosito and Scorcher captain Ashton Turner took the total to 147 in the 17th over ,Ashton Turner ended up 43 not out with Will Bosito on 2 not out ,Bancroft, Kinger and Turner all batted well to put the Scorchers in a good position .
Scorcher Bowler Andrew Tye was named player of the match.
The Scorchers won by 6 wickets.
