Before over 53,000 people Australia and England came to Optus Stadium here in Perth. WA to be the first teams to compete at the brand new venue ,even though England has already won the Gillette ODI series .The captains went out to the pitch and tossed the coin, Australia won the toss and sent England into bat .Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow came out to Face up to Australia’s opening bowler Mitchell Starc .Starc ran in to deliver his first ball which Jason Roy immediately dispatched to the fence for 4 runs .These two batsmen put on 71 runs in their 11.3 over’s before Jason Roy was caught by Josh Hazelwood of Andrew Tye for 49 runs ,England were now 1/71 ,the next batsman to the crease was Alex Hales who together with Jonny Bairstow took the tally to 117 (19.1 over’s) before Jonny Bairstow was bowled by Starc for 44 runs ,England were now 2/117 .Joe Root was the next batsman out to take centre ,over the next 7 over’s with Alex Hales they put on 34 runs to take England’s tally to 3/151.Alex Hales was the next batsman to go after miss hitting a ball from Mitchell Marsh which was caught by Glenn Maxwell ,the next batsman to come out and take centre was Eoin Morgan who managed to put on 3 runs before he was caught by Marcus Stonis off the bowling of Mitchell Marsh ,just over 28 over’s have been bowled and England were now 4/157.Root and new batsman Jos Buttler slowly added to the total until Jos Buttler took a swing at an Andrew Tye ball and was caught by David Warner for 21,the POMS were now 5/192.Moeen Ali took centre and over the next 5 over’s added 6 runs to his tally and together only 22 runs to the England total were added before Ali was caught by Tye off a ball from Adam Zampa ,the visitors were now 6/214 .Adil Rashid came out and faced up to Mitchell Starc who let the first ball go then the next ball he hit for 4 , a few runs later he dropped a short shot then they ran for the single but were to slow for the Aussie skippers arm and Adil Rashid was run out for 12 runs ,the English were now 7/238 .The next batsman to come out was David Willey who managed to put on 2 runs before being caught by Mitchell Marsh off the bowling of Andrew Tye ,the POMS were now 8/245.Bowler Tom Curran was the next batter out and and after a few balls he put Mitchell Starc over the fence for 6 ,a few balls later Joe Roots luck had come to an end after he was caught by David Warner off the bowling of Andrew Tye for a steady 62 runs. The English were now 9/258 .Jake Ball was the next batsman to line up and 3 balls later was heading back to the pavilion for a duck when he was bowled by Tye, England were all out for 259..
The Aussies came out to bat chasing 260 runs to win which would give them back to back victories ,the opening pair came out ,David Warner and Travis Head .David Willey was given the new ball while Tom Curran opened from the other end ,in the 3rd over with the score on 24 Tom Curran ran in and cleaned bowled David Warner ,the Aussies were now 1/24.The new batsman coming out was Marcus Stonis ,over the next 10 over’s the Aussie batsman put on 62 runs before Eoin Morgan ran out Travis Head for 22 ,the Aussies were now 2/86 .The next batsman out to the crease was Steven Smith who with Marcus Stonis added 33 runs over the 8 over’s before Smith was stumped off the bowling of Moeen Ali for 12,the Aussies 3/119 .Mitchell Marsh was the next batsman to line up but 2 over’s later was out caught and bowled to Moeen Ali for 13,Aussies 4/133.The new batsman coming in was Glenn Maxwell who with Marcus Stonis put on a 66 run partnership in the next 10 over’s before Adil Rashid lured Marcus Stonis with a full toss that ended up being caught by Tom Curran ,Stonis was stiff not to get his 100 ,but had to settle for a well made 87 ,Aussies 5/189.Wicket keeper Tim Paine was the next batsman to take centre ,3 over’s later Glenn Maxwell who was on 34 was given out LBW to a ball from Tom Curran ,Aussies 6/192.Mitchell Starc was the next batsman to come to the crease, he only lasted 2 balls before he was caught by Jos Buttler for a Duck off the bowling of Tom Curran. Andrew Tye was the next batsman to come to the crease and after 3 over’s he was caught by Eoin Morgan for 8 runs off the bowling of Moeen Ali ,Aussies 8/203 .Adam Zampa was the new incoming batsman who with Tim Paine took the total to 236 before he was out bowled by Tom Curran,Aussie 9/236 .Josh Hazelwood was the last Aussie hope to come out and take centre ,Australia need 24 runs off 21 balls to win ,but coming into the 48 th over Tim Paine was out bowled by Tom Curran for 34 runs ,England won the game .
