Perth Scorchers  vs Adelaide Strikers

      In front of 41,576 cricket fans at Optus Stadium the Adelaide Striker and Perth Scorcher skippers made their way to the centre for the toss ,it was Matt Short that called it and put Aaron Hardies team into bat, coming out to open for the Perth Scorchers are Zak Crawley and Sam Whiteman while the new ball was thrown to David Payne and Henry Thornton .The Scorchers started to add to the total when Zak Crawley was out caught off the bowling of Henry Thornton for 10 runs of his 14 balls ,the Perth Scorchers are now 1/39 in the 4^th over. Coming out to join Sam Whiteman is the Scorchers skipper Aaron Hardie, this partnership added 11 runs before Sam Whiteman was out caught off the bowling of Henry Thornton for 31 runs off his 21 balls, the Perth Scorchers are now 2/50.Josh Inglis is the incoming batter and over the next 6 over’s this partnership added 46 runs before Josh Inglis mishit a ball and was out caught off the bowling of Jamie Overton for 26 runs off 19 balls, the Scorchers are now 3/96 in the 12^th over. Laurie Evans is the next batter to the crease and this partnership (Hardie) had little trouble with the Strikers bowling putting on a 68 run partnership to take the total to 164 before the skipper Aaron Hardie mistimed hitting a ball and was out caught off the bowling of Jamie Overton, the Perth Scorchers are now 4/164 in the 17^th over. Cooper Connolly is the new batter to the crease and this partnership added 47 runs to the total, both batters after 20 over’s remained not out, The Scorchers got 211 runs of their 20 over’s, the better batter for the Perth Scorchers was Laurie Evans who hit 85 runs off his 28 balls faced, Whiteman (31),Aaron Hardie (34) with Josh Inglis (26) all contributed. Adelaide Striker bowlers Henry Thornton and Jamie Overton each picked up 2 wickets apiece.

      Coming out to open for the Adelaide Strikers are Matt Short and D’Arcy Short with the new ball being thrown to Jason Brehendorff and Jhye Richardson ,in the 3^rd  over it was D’Arcy Short that played at a ball and was out caught behind off the bowling of Lance Morris for 6 runs off his 7 balls ,the Strikers are now 1/20 .The next batter to make his way to the crease is big hitter Chris Lynn ,this partnership added 45 runs to the total before Chris Lynn mis-timed a shot and was out caught off the bowling of Lance Morris for 27 runs off 16 balls ,the Adelaide strikers are now 2/65 in the 7 th over .Adam Hose is the new batter to the crease ,this partnership added 26 runs to the total before Adam Hose edged a ball thru’ to the keeper and was out caught off the bowling of Lance Morris for 13 runs from 10 balls ,the Strikers are now 3/91 .The next batter to the crease is Thomas Kelly and over the next 6 over’s this partnership had little trouble with the Scorcher bowlers hitting 62 runs ,the Perth Scorchers were feeling the pressure with not so sharp fielding .Then in the 15^th over the Scorchers got the wicket of Matt Short after being caught off the bowling of Lance Morris for 74 well made runs off 44 balls ,the Adelaide Strikers are now 4/153,Jamie Overton is the next batter to make his way to the crease ,unfortunately 3 balls later it was Thomas Kelly who was making his way back to the dugout after being caught off the bowling of Andrew Tye for 29 runs of 22 balls ,the Adelaide Strikers are now 5/155 .James Bazley is the next batter to take centre ,4 balls later it was Jamie Overton that was out caught of Lance Morris for 1 run off 3 balls ,the Strikers are now 6/157 and in deep trouble .Harry Nielsen is the new batter to the crease ,this partnership only lasted for 2 balls before James Bazley was out caught of the bowling of Lance Morris for 2 runs ,the Adelaide Strikers are now 7/158 in the 17^th over .Henry Thornton is the next batter to the crease ,the Strikers need 51 runs to win ,Henry Thornton played at a ball and was out caught behind off a ball from Andrew Tye for 2 runs off his 4 balls ,the Strikers are now in deeper trouble at 8/161 9 balls remaining .Coming out to the crease is David Payne ,but 3 balls later it was Harry Nielsen that was out after being caught off the bowling of Jhye Richardson for 2 runs of his 3 balls faced. The Strikers are now 9/169 .Cameron Boyce is the next batter who faced up and was out for a Golden Duck off the bowling of Jhye Richardson, the Adelaide Strikers are all out for 169 runs. The Better batter for the Strikers was Matt Short hitting 74 runs off 44 balls with Chris Lyn (27) and Jamie Overton (29), the best bowler for the Perth Scorchers was Lance Morris taking 5/24 off 4 overs, with Behrendorff (1), Richardson (2) and Andrew Tye (2).The Perth Scorchers won by 42 runs.
