The Australian and New Zealand mens cricket teams came to Perth for the first match in the Domain Day/Night test in WA ,the weather forecast for the 5 days was to be heatwave conditions,so when the captains went out for the toss and Aussie skipper Tim Paine called it he didn’t hestitate to put the Kiwi’s out in the field as the forecast was for the temp to hit 41’c for the day.Openers Joe Burns and David Warner came out to face up to the Black Caps opening bowler Tim Southee ,this pair steadily added runs when in the 12th over  Joe Burns was caught in front and went Lbw to Colin de Grandhomme for 9 runs ,the Aussies are 1/40 ,incoming batsmen Marnus Labushagne came out and joined Dave Warner and together took the score to 75 before Warner was caught and bowled by Neil Wagner for 43 runs ,Australia are now 2/75 .Coming out to join Labushagne is Steven Smith who over the 48 overs put together a partnership of 132 runs before Smith was setup and was caught off the bowling of Neil Wagner for 43 runs ,the Aussies are now 3/207,the next batter to come to the crease is Matthew Wade  who with the inform Marnus Labushagne took the total to 225 before Wade was beaten by a ball from Tim Southee and was cleaned bowled for 12,Aussies are now 4/225 in the 82^nd over .Travis Head is the next batter to come out and take centre and over the next 19 overs added 76 runs before the inform Marnus Labushagne was bowled by a swinging ball from Neil Wagner for 143 well made runs ,Labushagne faced 240 balls .Aussies are now 5/301,new batter to the crease is skipper Tim Paine ,with Travis Head this pair over the next 11 overs took the total to 325 before Travis Head was caught in the covers for a well made 56 runs ,Australia are now  6/325.Bowler Pat Cummins made his way to the centre and with the skipper Tim Paineadded 38 runs before Cummins was cleaned bowled Jeet Raval  for 20 runs, the Aussies are now 7/363 ,Mithchell Starc is the next batter who with the skipper added 35 runs before Starc was caught off the bowling of Tim Southee for 30 ,Aussies are now 8/408 after 144 overs .Spinner Nathan Lyon was the new batter and his stay was short and sweet hittings his 8 runs off the over before being caught off the bowling of Neil Wagner ,Aussies are now 9/416 off the 146 overs bowled,Josh Hazelwood is the next batter to come out who unfortunately didn’t get to face a ball ,before skipper Tim Paine was caught of the bowling of Tim Southee for 39 runs ,Australia’s first innings is closed at all out for 416 runs ,the best of the black cap bowlers were Tim Southee taking 4/93 off 30.2 overs and Neil Wagner bowled well taking 4/92 of his 37 overs ,the best of the Aussie batters was Marnus Labushagne for his 143 runs ,these batters and bowlers were out there in heat touching 42’c.

The Black caps are now back in the shade with openers Jeet Raval and Tom Latham making their way out to the centre and its the Aussies turn to come out and toil in the centre ,Aussie skipper Tim Paine threw the new ball to Mitchell Starc ,it wasn’t long until Mitchell Starc’s over that he  had Tom Latham caught and bowled for a duck ,the Kiwi’s are now 1/1 in the first over ,the new batter is New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson .Opening for the Aussies at the other end is Josh Hazelwood who in the 4^th ball cleaned bowled Jeet Raval for a 1 ,the Kiwi’s are now in trouble at 2/1 ater 2 overs .During Josh Hazelwoods next over he injured his Hamstring and had to leave the field ,his injury was such that he didn’t take part in the rest of the match.Ross Taylor was the next batter to the crease to join the skipper Kane Williamson ,over the next 21 overs the pair added 76 runs before Kane Williamson was caught of the bowling of Mitchell Starc for 34 runs ,the Kiwi’s were now 3/77,Henry Nicholls is the incoming batter who over the next 6 overs put on 7 runs before being caught behind off the bowling of Mitchell Starc ,the Kiwi’s are now 4/97.The new batter came to the crease took centre and was cleaned bowled for a golden Duck ,the Kiwi’s were now 5/97 and in deep trouble .Bradley J Watling was the next batter to come out ,over the next 9 overs the Kiwi’s added 23 runs of which Watling added 8 runs before he was bowled by Pat Cummins ,the Kiwi’s are now 6/120 .Colin de Grandhomme came out to join the inform Ross Tayor who was steadily adding to his total ,after 7 overs this partnership came to an end with Ross Taylor being caught off the bowling of Nathan Lyon for a well made 80 runs ,the Black caps are now 7/147 in the 46^th over .Mitchell Santner is the incoming batter ,this partnership lasted for an over of which 8 runs came until Colin de Grandhomme  was caught off the bowling of Mitchell Starc for 23 runs ,the Kiwi’s are 8/155 off 54 overs.Tim Southee is the new batter and with Mitchell Santner added 13 runs before Santner was bowled by Marnus Labasgne for 2 the Black caps are now 9/166,Lockie Ferguson  is the only remaining batter left ,in the next over Tim Southee was caught of the bowling of Nathan Lyon and the Black Caps are all out for 166 runsoff 56 overs .The Australian bowling attack kept to their plan and it paid off ,Mitchell Starc bowled well to get his 5/52 off 18 overs, while the other Aussies bowled well in their spells .

The Australian openers came out for their second dig 250 runs in front of the Kiwi’s ,Joe Burns and David Warner came out to face up to the Black Caps Bowler Colin de Grandhomme who operarted from 1 end while Tim Southee toiled from the other ,the opening pair added 44 runs before David Warner was caught at silly mid on off the bowling of Tim Southee,the Aussies are now 1/44,Marnus Labusagne is the incoming batsmen and together with Joe Burns took the total to 131 before Marnus Labushagne was caught of the bowling of Neil Wagner for a well made 50 runs Australia are now 2/131 off 42 overs .Steven Smith was the new batter to come out and join Joe Burns who was seeing the ball really well ,5 overs later Joe Burns was caught off the bowling of Tim Southee for a well put together 53 ,the Aussies are now 3/148 .Matthew Wade is the batsmen to come out and join Steve Smith  ,this pair added 6 runs over the next 3 overs before Steven Smith was caught off the bowling of Neil Wagner for 16 runs,Australia are now 4/154 .New batter Travis Head made his way out to the centre to join Matthew Wade but this partnership didn’t last all that long as 6 runs later Travis Head was caught for 5 runs off the bowling of Tim Southee,Aussies are 5/160.The next batter is the Aussie skipper Tim Paine  who came out and faced up to Tim Southee and was cleaned bowled for a Duck ,Aussies are now 6/160,Pat Cummins is the batter to come out and join Matthew Wade and together over the next 10 overs took the total to 180 before Pat Cummins was caught of the bowling of Neil Wagner for 13 runs ,the Aussies are now 7/180 off 63 overs .Mitchell Starc is the new batter to come out to the crease and join Matthew Wade ,but this partnership didn’t last long 5 balls later Matthew Wade was caught in the deep of the bowling of Colin de Grandhomme for 17 runs,Australia are now 8/189 .Nathon Lyon is the new batter to join Mitchell Starc and together over the next 5 overs this pair added 28 runs before Mitchell Starc was caught of the bowling of Colin de Grandhomme for 23 runs ,Australia are 9/217 and are all out as Josh Hazelwood couldn’t bat due to injury.The best of the Black Cap bowlers is Tim Southee who ended up with 5/69 off 22 overs including 6 maidens,Neil Wagner also picked up 3/59 off 23 overs.

The Black Caps padded up for the second innings ,coming out to open are Jeet Laval and Tom Latham ,the Aussie ball was thrown to Mitchell Starc who with Pat Cummins opened the attack ,after 5 overs Mitchell Starc had Jeet Laval caught for 1 run ,the Black caps are 1/6 .The new batter is Black Cap skipper Kane Williamson who over the next 3 overs added 15 runs with Tom Latham ,but the skipper was caught of the bowling Nathan Lyon for 14 runs,the Kiwi’s are 2/21,next batter to the crease is Ross Taylor and with opener Tom Latham steady the ship to take the total to 57 before Ross Taylor was caught behind of the bowling off Mitchell Starc 22 ,the Kiwi’s are now 3/57 .Bradley j Watling makes his way out to join Tom Latham who faced up to Nathan Lyon was struck on the pads and given Lbw for 18,the Kiwi’s are 4/57 in the 24^th over ,new batter to the crease is Henry Nicholls who with BJ Watling added 41 runs in the 15 over partnership before Henry Nicholls was caught of the bowling of Nathan Lyon for 21 runs ,the Black Caps are 5/98.Colin de Grandhomme is the incoming batter and together with BJ Watling over the next 19 overs had a 56 run partnership that ended when Colin de Grandhomme was caught of the bowling of Pat Cummins for 33 runs,the Black Capsare now 6/154.Mitchell Santner is the next batter to come out for the Black Caps joining BJ Watling this pair lasted 2 overs before BJ Watling was caught behind off the bowling of Mitchell Starc for a well put together 40 runs the Kiwi’s are 7/154,Tim Southee is the new batter to partner Mitchell Santner who 5 balls later was caught off the bowling of Mitchell Starc ,the Kiwi’s are now 8/154 off 62 overs.Neil Wagner is the incoming batter who put on 8 runs before being caught behind off the bowling of Mitchell Starc for 8 ,the Black Caps are in deep trouble at 9/163 ,Lockie Ferguson is the last batter to come out and join Tim Southee ,3 overs later and 8 runs added it was all over as Tim Southee was caught of the bowling of Nathan Lyon ,the Black Caps are all out for 171.BJ Watling and Colin de Grandhomme were the only Kiwi batters to get a score while Aussie quick Mitchell Starc got 4/45 of 14 overs with 5 maidens ,Spinner Nathan Lyon bowled well to get 4/63 off 22.3 overs with 3 maidens ,Pat Cummins ended with 2/31 off 19 overs and 6 maidens .With the Day/Night test the wickets tumbled mainly in the evening when the conditions changed the ball swung ,dipped and moved around.Australia won easily in the end.
