The Perth Scorchers came to Optus Stadium for its first match of the KFC BBL 09 season against the Melbourne Renegades,Captains Mitchell Marsh and Aaron Finch made their way out to the centre for the bat flip ,Renegades skipper Aaron Finch called it and sent the Scorchers into bat ,coming out to open for the Scorchers Liam Livingstone and Josh Inglis ,Kane Richardson was thrown the new ball ,This partnership was starting to get a put a few runs on the board but the in the 3rd over Josh Inglis was caught off the of bowking of Kane Richardson ,the Scorhers are 1/20,incoming batter is Cameron Bancroft who didn’t waste to much time in getting his eye in as runs started to flow ,this partnership had put on 64 well made runs then Liam Livingstone played at ball and was caught off the bowling of Richard Gleeson for 29 off 19 balls ,the Scorchers are now 2/84 in the 10th over, Ashton Turner is the new batter and together with Cameron Bancroft they started to play the bowlers around the ground picking up runs ,Cameron Bancroft played at a ball from Kane Richardson and was caught for 51 runs off 37 balls the Scorchers are 3/122,the next batter is skipper Mitchell Marsh who with Ashton Turner put on 34runs before Turner was caught off the bowling of Kane Richardson for 36 runs of 26 balls ,the Scorchers are now 4/156 ,new batter is Ashton Agar who added 2 runs to the total before he was caught of the bowling of Kane Richardson for 2 runs ,the Scorchers are now 5/158 in the 17th over ,incoming batter is Cameron Green and with Marsh took the total to 175 before Green was caught of the bowling off Harry Gurney for 3 runs ,the Scorchers are now 6/175 in the 19th over, incoming batter is Chris Jordan .Mitch Marsh is on strike and cut loose with hitting 3 sixes off the the remaining 4 balls ,on the last ball unfortunately Chris Jordan was run out ,Mitch Marsh remained 56 not out off 22 balls ,the Scorchers made 196 runs of the 20 overs ,best of the Renegade bowlers is Kane Richardson who took 4/22 of his 4 overs
Renegades came out and have to get 10 runs an over to take the match ,openers Sam Harper and skipper Aaron Finch made they way out to the centre ,the new Scorcher ball was thrown to Jhye Richardson ,when the first ball was bowled the openers made there intentions known and went after the bowlers ,after 4 overs the Renegades are 0/43 .Aaron Finch faced up to Chris Jordan and was caught for 28 runs off 15 balls ,Renegades are 1/43.Shaun Marsh is the new batter to the crease ,after putting on 8 runs Sam Harper was on his way after being caught off the bowling of Scorcher debutante Chris Jordan ,Melbourne are now 2/51 in the sixth over ,Tom Cooper made his way to the centre to join Marsh but after putting on a 13 partnership was on his way after being caught off the bowling of Ashton Agar for 9 runs off 14 balls ,the Renegades are now 3/64 .Beau Webster made his way out to join Shaun Marsh ,this partnership hammered the Scorcher bowlers to take 92 runs of just over 8 overs and put the Renegades in pole postion ,but as fate had it Shaun Marsh departed after being caught of the bowling of Fawad Ahmed for a well made 55 of 38 balls,Renegades are 4/156 in the eighteenth over .Next batter to come out is Daniel Christian who caught 3 balls later of the bowling of Fawad Ahmed for a Duck ,the visitors are now 5/159,Jack Wildermuth is the new batter to join Beau Webster ,with only 2 runs added to the total Wildermuth was on his way back to the pavillion caught off the bowling of Chris Jordan for a Duck ,Melbourne are 6/161 in the nineteenth over 35 runs off 11 balls.New batter to the crease is Cameron Boyce who joined Webster but despite trying attack the bowling the bowlers contained them 24 runs ,the Renegades fell 11 runs short of getting the points .The Perth Scorchers won by 11 runs to take the points ,man of the match is Mitchell Marsh for his 56 runs .The Scorcher bowlers bowled to their plan which worked ,Scorchers next game is against the Sydney Sixers at Optus Stadium on boxing day.
