In front of over 4,000 spectators ,22 dogs the Captains from the Perth Scorchers and the Sydney Sixers made their way out to the centre for the batflip it was Sydney Sixers skipper Alyssa Healy that called it and put her team into bat ,Coming out to open the innings for Sydney Sixers is Alyssa Healy and Ellyse Perry ,Perth Scorchers Marizanne Kapp was thrown the new ball .As expected these 2 seasoned openers took the total to 101 before Ellyse Perry was cleaned bowled by Taneale Peschel for 31 runs in the 12th over ,the Sixers are now 1/101.The next batter to make her way out is Ashleigh Gardner who with skipper Healy added 18 runs before Gardner was out caught off the bowling of Taneale Peschel for 8 runs ,the Sixers are now 2/119 .Shafali Verma came out to support Alyssa Healy who by now was seeing the ball really well ,this partnership added 20 runs before Verma and Healy went for a run that wasn’t there and it was Verma that headed back to the pavilion out for 8 runs ,the Sixers are now 3/ 139.With just under 2 over’s left to play it was Maitlan Brown that came out to partner Healy ,this pair added 22 runs ,the Sixers ended up hitting 161 runs off their 20 over’s .Alyssa Healy was the standout batter hitting 94 runs off 57 balls .Taneale Peschel was the only Perth Scorcher bowler to get wickets ending up with 2.
The Perth Scorcher openers Sophie Devine and Beth Mooney make their way out to the centre to face up to Sixer bowlers Lauren Cheatle and Ellyse Perry .These batters over the next 3 over’s took the total to 19 before Sophie Devine played at a ball and was out caught off the bowling of Ellyse Perry for 6 runs ,the Scorchers are now 1/19.The next batter to the crease is Chloe Piparro who with Beth Mooney added 48 runs before Chloe Piparro was cleaned bowled for 29 runs by Nicole Bolton ,the Scorchers are now 2/67 in the 11th over .Chamari Athapath is the next batter to make her way to the crease ,unfortunately she was heading back to the pavilion after being caught off the bowling off Radha Yadav for a Duck ,the Perth Scorchers are now 3/67 .Heather Graham is the new batter to the crease to partner Beth Mooney ,but 6 balls later Beth Mooney was heading back to the pavilion after being caught off the bowling of Radha Yadav for 30 runs off 29 balls.The Scorchers are 4/71in the 12th over ,Marizanne Kapp is the new batter to come out to the centre ,unfortunately 4 balls she was heading back to the rope after being caught of the bowling of Nicole Bolton for 2 runs ,the Scorchers are now 5/74 in the 13th over .The Scorchers need 88 runs in the next 6 over’s ,the next batter is Alana King who with Heather Graham added 24 runs to the total before Heather Graham was out caught of the bowling of Radav Yadav for 19 runs .The Perth Scorchers are 6/98 and in deep trouble the next batter to walk out to the centre is Mathilda Carmichael ,this partnership only lasted for 8 balls before Alana King was out caught off the bowling of Lauren Cheatle ,the Scorchers are now 7/107 .New batter Lily Mills made her way to the centre to partner Mathilda Carmichael ,unfortunately Lily Mills was clean bowled for a Duck by Lauren Cheatle ,the Scorchers are now in deep deep trouble and are 8/110 ,the next batter is Taneale Peschel ,this partnership added 7 runs before Peschel was out caught off the bowling of Ashleigh Gardner for a Duck ,the Scorchers are 9/117 off their 20 over’s .Beth Mooney , Chloe Piparro and Heather Graham were the only batters to put runs on the board .The Scorchers were completely out played by the Sydney Sixers who deserved to take the points .Nicole Bolton ended up taking 3 wickets with Lauren Cheatle getting 2 wickets.
