           In the first Marsh Sheffield match of the WACA season Western Australia  meet  the Tasmanian men ,the captains Mitch Marsh and Matthew Wade tossed the coin with Mitchell Marsh calling  the toss and elected to bat putting Tasmania out to field.WA openers Cameron Bancroft and Sam Whiteman made their way out to face up to Tasmania’s opening attack of Jackson Bird and Sam Rainbird .In the second over Jackson Bird ran in to Sam Whiteman and had him Lbw for a Duck ,WA is 1/6 .Incoming batter is Shaun Marsh who together with Cameron Bancroft added 13 runs to the total before Shaun Marsh was caught off the bowling of Sam Rainbird for 9 runs WA are now 2/19 ,WA skipper Mitchell Marsh is the new batter and together with Cameron Bancroft put on a partnership of 66 runs in their 15 overs ,unfortunately Cameron Bancroft played at a ball andwas caught off the bowling of Riley Meredith for 30 runs ,WA are now 3/85.Marcus Stoinis is the incoming batter,this partnership only lasted just under 4 overs before Mitchell Marsh was cleaned bowled by Riley Meredith for 41 runs off 48 balls ,WA are now 4/99.Josh Philipe is the incoming batter to join Marcus Stoinis and over the next 24 overs put together a partnership of 110 runs before Josh Philipe was caught of the bowling of Lawrence Neil-Smith for a well made 48 runs ,WA are 5/219 in the 50th over ,keeper Josh Inglis is the new batter out to the crease ,3 balls later Marcus Stoinis was out caught of the bowling of Jackson Bird for 61 well made runs ,WA are 6/219 .Allrounder Ashton Agar is the next batter to take centre ,16 overs later after putting together a partnership of 41runs Ashton Agar was out caught off the bowling of Lawrence Neil-Smith for 20 runs ,WA are now 7/270 runs .The next batter is Cameron Green who with Josh Inglis added 39 runs to take the total to 309 before Josh Inglis was caught off the bowling of Sam Rainbird for 42 runs ,WA are now 8/309.The next batter is opening bowler Jhye Richardson ,this partnership lasted 4 overs before Cameron Green went Lbw to Jackson Bird for a well made 34 runs ,WA are now 9/331.Joel Paris is the last WA batter to walk out to the centre and join fellow bowler Jhye Richardson ,this pair added 6 runs before Jhye Richardson was caught off the bowling of Riley Meredith ,WA are all out for 337 runs of  85.5 overs.Tasmanian bowlers Jackson Bird,Riley Meredith and Lawrence Neil-Smith each took 3 wickets apeice .Marcus Stoinis was the better of the West Australian batters getting 61 runs off 101 balls

                Tasmanian openers Jordan Silk with Alex Doolan made there way out to the centre to face up to WA opening bowlers Joel  Paris and Jhye Richardson ,the opener batters put together a partnership of 45 runs off 15.2 overs before Alex Doolan was caught of the bowling of Cameron Green for 23 runs ,Tasmania are now 1/45,George Bailey is the incoming batsmen ,4 overs later George Bailey was heading back to the Pavillion after being cleaned bowled by Cameron Green for 10 runs,Tasmania are now 2/61.The new batter coming out is the Skipper Matthew Wade and together with Jordan Silk put on a 62 run partnership before Jordan Silk went Lbw to a ball from Mitchell Marsh for 44 runs off 89 balls ,Tassie are now 3/123.The incoming batter is Ben McDermott who over the next 12 overs together with Matthew Wade added 23 runs to take the total to 146 runs before Matthew Wade was caught behind off the bowling of Jhye Richardson for 40 runs ,Tasmania are now 4/146.Caleb Jewell is the incoming batter to join Ben McDermott ,this partnership put on 30 runs before Ben McDermott was cleaned bowled by Mitchell Marsh,Tassie are now 5/176 off 60 overs.Tim Paine made his way out to join Caleb Jewell ,this partnership added 80 runs until Caleb Jewell was caught off  the bowling of Joel Paris for 52 runs ,Tasmania are now 6/256 .Sam Rainbird came out to join Tim Paine ,unfortunately this partnership lasted only for 7 runs before Sam Rainbird was caught off the bowling of Marcus Stoinis for 5 runs ,Tassie are now 7/263 off 92 overs ,Jackson Bird is the new batter to make his way out to join Tim Paine ,this partnership lasted for 5 overs before the  Jackson Bird was out caught off the bowling of Marcus Stoinis for 3 runs Tasmania are now 8/281.Incoming batter is Lawrence Neil-Smith who with the inform Tim Paine put together a partnership of 111 runs over the 34 overs ,the next Tassie wicket to fall was Tim Paine he was caught off the bowling of Jhye Richardson for a well made 121 runs that came of 208 balls ,Tasmania are now 9/392.Riley Meredith is the last Tassie batter to come out and join Lawrence Neil-Smith ,this partnership lasted 7 runs until Riley Meredith was cleaned bowled by Ashton Agar for a Duck ,Tasmania’s first innings closed at 397 runs off 142 overs,Tim Paines sold hit of 121 runs of 208 balls was the best effort by a Tasmanian batter.Jhye Richardson bowled well to pick up 3 wickets ,while Cameron Green and Mitchell Marsh each picked up 2 apiece

The West Australian team came out in their second innings looking at a 60 run deficent ,openers Sam Whiteman and Cameron Bancroft made their way out to the centre to face up to the opening attack of Jackson Bird and Sam Rainbird,Cameron Bancroft faced up to the first ball of Jackson Bird and was caught out for a Golden Duck ,WA are now 1/0 ,Shaun Marsh is the new batter to make his way to the centre and together over the next 14 overs took the total to 36 before Sam Whiteman went Lbw to Lawrence Neil-Smith for 16 runs ,WA are now 2/36 ,the incoming batter is WA skipper Mitchell Marsh then together with  his brother Shaun put on a 114 run partnership in the 29 overs ,Mitchell Marsh faced up to a ball from Jackson Bird and was out caught and bowled for 53 well made runs,WA are now 3/150 ,the next batter to walk out is Marcus Stoinis who with Shaun Marsh , this partnership lasted for 6 overs before Shaun Marsh was out caught off the bowling of Sam Rainbird,WA are now 4/175, Josh Philipe made his way out to join Marcus Stoinis and together the pair added 32 runs before Josh Philipe was out caught of the bowling of Lawrence Neil-Smith for 18 runs ,WA sre now 5/207.Josh Inglis is the incoming batter who with Marcus Stoinis over the next 10 overs added a 40 run partnership till Marcus Stoinis was caught off the bowling of Riley Meredith for 57 runs off 82 balls ,WA are now 6/247,allrounder Ashton Agar is the new batter and with Josh Inglis  over the next 20 overs added 51 runs to WA’s total Josh Inglis was out caught off the bowling of Jackson Bird for 40 runs,WA are 7/298 .Incoming batter is Cameron Green who unfortunately was caught 3 balls later off the bowling of Jackson Bird for a Duck ,WA are now 8/298 .Jhye Richardson is the incoming batter and 2 balls later he was heading back to the pavillion after being caught off the bowling of Jackson Bird for a Duck ,WA are now 9/298 .Joel Paris is the new batter to come out and partner  Ashton Agar and over the next 20 overs took WA to the end of the days play ,WA ended up 9/383 in their second innings ,the match was drawn .WA batter Shaun Marshs 85 runs was a stand out  as well as Ashton Agar’s 76 runs not out ,Joel Paris ended up 23 not out .Stand out bowler for Tasmania was Jackson Bird who took 5/78 off 27 overs .

Jackson Bird’s 3 wickets in the first innings and his 5 wicket haul in the second innings  earned him the player of the match.
